Two weeks before the Texas State Button Society Spring Show, Austin Button Club members gathered to finalize their hosting plans. In the midst of this busy time this group was also interviewed by reporter Carolyn Lindell of the American Satesman.
Austin button friends shared their passion for buttons –
“It’s like a cat lady, once she has seven cats, she stops counting.”
“Mother collected buttons from the time she was 11, and she died when she was 98.”
“I realized the history, complexity and artistry in these little works of art.”
“There is such a button world.”
“I like history and antiques, but button collecting is a fairly recent interest.”
“This gang-ho group is, well, cute as a button.”
