2015-2024 TSBS Spring Show and Fall Workshop location and hosting Club
The Texas State Button Society holds a spring and a fall event each year for members as well as the general public to enjoy button related art and craft, technique and material, and history and mystery. The event is family friendly and free to the public.
Spring Show
(late March or early April)
- Competition tray displays: Awards competition offers opportunities for members to compete using their collections, knowledge and ingenuity. Specific themes for the competitions are designed and sponsored by TSBS clubs and members following guidelines from the National Button Society “Blue Book”. The competition tray displays are an amazing way to be inspired by members’ collections and creativity.
- Educational display: This is a special and informative way to appreciate the forgotten beauty and history of buttons, supported by TSBS members.
- Button market: A unique opportunity to see, buy or sell buttons of all kinds, many costing from just a few cents and some as much as a few hundred dollars. The thousands of buttons offered are of incredible variety and never cease to surprise and amaze.
- Silent auction: Make bids on your favorite donated items! All proceeds help sustain our non-profit society.
- Educational program: This presentation is always a highlight of the show.
- Kid’s activities: Our junior activity officer hosts a fun crafting event for the younger members and visitors.
- Favor button: Our Spring Show offers a special button designed and made to a specific theme by a studio artist as a souvenir of the show.
